1. How to Start a Drawing of a Crown

Step ane

Describe a vertical line. This volition be the line of symmetry for our crown.

Step 3

Depict an identical ellipse a fleck higher. Together they'll create the "band" on the bottom of the crown.

Step 9

Our crown will accept viii curved "arches"—two of them on the sides, which nosotros already have, two in the front and back (which are simply vertical lines), and four in between. To find a proper identify for them, draw a marker on each ellipse—utilize the same proportions each time.

Step 10

Depict a bend through these marks. Its shape should be a transition betwixt the side curve and front end curve (a line).

Step eleven

Draw the back curves the same fashion.

Step 12

The arches need to connect at a single point, angle slightly in the middle. Draw this surface area as an ellipse, slightly lower than the top one.

Step xiii

Draw an octagon in this ellipse—one side for each arch.

Step 14

"Copy" each side of the octagon along its corresponding bend to define the width of the whole arch.

ii. How to Decorate a Crown

Step i

Nosotros tin can decorate the crown even so we want, but the primal is to keep these decorations consistent. Sketch some guide lines to fix equal proportions for each curvation.

Step 3

Depict a band within each arch, most one-quarter of the fashion from each side.

3. How to Add Jewels to the Crown

Stride 1

Finally, the most fun part! Permit's add some shiny jewels. Depict circles correct nether each arch (turn them into ellipses in perspective).

You can learn about drawing dissimilar crystals/diamonds from these tutorials:

Pace 2

Depict a smaller circle/ellipse inside—the flat top of the jewel. Because it'south higher than the previous circle, it should also "move away" from the center as the perspective shifts.
